Description

Beautifully detailed statue of Morrigan, the phantom queen, triple goddess in Celtic mythology. Her legends abound, from war, fertility and sovereignty, she is most beloved in Ireland. Her relationship to the number three, as a triple goddess, holds great significance in ancient and modern folklore. Possibly from the Tuatha De Danann, she wears a Celtic torc, braids interwoven in her flowing hair, Celtic knots and designs decorating her clothing, a sword in one hand, a raven perched in her other. She measures 10.25″ high, 6.5″ long, and a base 3″ wide.

From the Veronese collection, she is sculpted of cold cast bronze, a process of mixing bronze powder with resin, producing pieces with incredible detail and the appearance of fine bronze art.
