Raku Pottery Incense Burners

Raku pottery burners are made by hand and fired in an outdoor kiln to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. The piece is then pulled from the red hot kiln and plunged into a sand pit with wood chips. The intense heat of the raku piece causes the wood shavings to spontaneously ignite. The flames create unique colors and cracks in the glaze while hardening each piece. Each handmade piece will vary slightly in color and appearance and measures 4.5″ in diameter.
